    Be thankful you have a job. A lot of Americans don't.

    never said i wasnt thankful. doesnt change the fact it blows though. we are wasting money here, I hate seeing money wasted. but i thank myself, its all due to my efforts and hard work that i have a good job.

    and before you think otherwise, i have been homless, did not graduate high school, lived on the streets and couches for a few years, and worked hard to make myself what i am today. i worked my way up without family from the very bottom.

    I never made any assumptions or thoughts about where you came from. I'm just saying that there are a lot of people out there who wish they could complain about working today.

    Apparently, we've had a "tent city" spring up here in Colorado Springs, and the people there need jobs, and they need help.

    Even in my unit, we have several soldiers working 24 hour shifts over the holidays.

    Hey Lucas;

    I'm self-employed, so in a few hours I'll shut down, walk downstairs, have a nice dinner with the family, and then open presents.....

    On the other hand, there is no wasting money around here! There's always something to do... I'm just doing something real slow right about now.....

    you lucky duck you. i write fiction on the side, but with my work schedule its difficult to find real time to get into the zone and veg out on the computer screen with my words. hopefully some day ill have some of my work in finished formats and can maybe get something published. thats the goal anyway, about the only way i see myself working for myself. idk though, im having a hard time staying rooted. i really want do let the wind blow me somewhere, but im getting older and i know that i cant do that anymore or ill never have a foundation for my elder years to live on.

    Well, staying alive these past two years has been a real challenge. I have managed to stay in business, but have not paid myself anything for 40+ hours of work per week... Hopefully the next 4 to 6 years will be a whole lot better.

    On the other hand, not fighting traffic and not maintaining the truck and not gassing it does help some....

    Take care! and...

    Merry Christmas Lucas!

    im glad yours was relaxing and safe. im a very rare drinker, the last several new years i laid low, but this time i went out.

    went to this cool bar called shanghai tunnel (its a underground place fashioned out of a portion of the shanghai tunnels here in portland) drank a lot, but im not a crazy drunk. i did end up taking a 8 mile walk though to get home to my bed instead of sleeping on a couch. when i woke up i was pretty happy with my decision

    all in all it was safe and fun though. lots of girls out to torture guys like me.
