第八届美国功夫太极杂志社国际武术锦标赛暨第五届功夫太极日活动21日和22日两天在圣荷西会议中心南馆举 行，来自中国、法国、智利、加拿大、墨西哥、乌克兰等国近2000人参与，规模超过往届。

功夫太极杂志社社长简琪19日表示，往年活动都是第一天武术比赛，第二天功夫太极日。今年因为参赛者太多， 比赛延长到一天半。21日为传统武术赛。22日上午为太极和内家拳比赛。下午的功夫太极日活动在同一场地进 行。

今年是猴年，特别安排猴王争霸猴拳赛。「虎爪精英冠军赛」也同场进行，分为成人、青少年、少年三个组。这项 比赛同时也是慈善项目，报名收入将捐给野生救援协会。

22日下午的国际太极日，是重头戏。中午12时开幕剪綵。之后由三位世界冠军高佳敏、邹云健和吴阿敏带领集 体演练24式太极拳。

下午1时至4时为名家表演与示范教学，参加名家包括现代武术南刀创编人王培锟、国际武术散手道联盟创办人梁 守渝、曾任缅甸国家太极队教练郑冬阳、连续十年中国武术全能冠军赵长军、杨式太极拳掌门人杨军、陈式太极拳 传人陈炳等多人。

21日的国际武术锦标赛门票10元。22日的太极比赛和功夫太极日活动全部免费。地点：San Jose Convention Center South Hall。

2016年5月21-22日在美国圣荷西市举办了“第八届美国功夫太极杂志社国际武术锦标赛”。

“上海轩德太极拳队”教练潘树明率学生李玫、凌莉前往参赛。潘树明参加45岁以上高级组，喜获42式太极拳 、剑、传统刀，三个单项的第一名，并获“冠军皇”（总冠军）的金奖,。她的二名学生分获各年龄段的单项金、 银奖。

当潘树明走上领奖台时，观众中有人轻声说，那不是去年在“圣荷西术功夫太极日”，上场表演42拳、42剑的 “上海精武女拳手吗？”。显然，去年前来参赛的选手与观众对她展示拳、剑的规整，优美、沉稳…的印象深刻， 去年她虽然没有参赛，可是见过她表演的人，还是认出她来。

去年2015年，她到美国旅游期间，正巧赶上观摩“圣荷西功夫太极日”，就在民间武台上作了献演。她听说昨 天有比赛，遗憾的是没赶上。并表示第八届武术赛会，她来参赛，再与太极拳友们在赛场上，校技、 交流。

果然，她今年前来参赛了。凭她的技艺，捧走该年龄段的大奖“冠军皇”是无异议的。而她所经历的民间赛事多多 ，奖牌可缀满胸襟，并非完全为获奖而来。人们并不知道，她今年6月回上海后，7月又要代表“上海精武体育总 会”再度赴美参加“国际精武联谊会”在美国举办的“国际精武武术文化交流会”。殊不知，二次赴美参赛的费用 均为自理，而她表示，去年与美国拳友短暂的太极拳交往后，似乎与美国太极拳人结了缘 ，所以二次赛事间隔短，花费大，也值得一来。

本次赛会，太极拳的比赛安排在22日上午，21日为其它武术项目的比赛。大会裁判组获知，她曾担任过香港武 术赛会执裁工作，因此，也聘她为裁判。也是裁判实习的机会。

22日上午太极拳专场赛后，运动员、观众要求她在22日下午“圣荷西功夫太极日”的表演舞台上，再次展示4 2拳、42剑的技艺，大会组织者也举荐，安排她上场表演。

下午开场她列为全场集体24式太极拳表演的引领者之一。舞台上她表演了27式太极拳。

她此行，可以说确实不易，却也一举多得呀！

当日由高佳敏、邹云 健和吴阿敏三位世界冠军，带领演练24式太极拳，有数百人跟着练习，柔中带刚，场面壮观。
