2020 Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Online Championship

The 2020 Tiger Claw Elite Championships were postponed due to the pandemic. In lieu of this, the 2020 Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Online Championship is a socially distant championship happening over the KungFuMagazine.com’s YouTube channel (36.9K subscribers).

The 2020 Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Online Championship is different than the online tournaments have been held already. This is a Grand Championship event, limited to 30 competitors per age bracket so there will only be 150 competitors max. All the competitors’ videos will be showcased on KungFuMagazine.com’s YouTube channel over the course of five weeks, one week per age bracket. First, Second and Third Place Trophies will be awarded for four different style divisions – Traditional Kung Fu, Songshan Shaolin, Modern Wushu and Tai Chi/Internal for all five age brackets. Additionally, a trophy will be awarded for a Grand Champion across the four style divisions for each age bracket, as well as a People’s Choice award (the competitor that receives the most views during the competition window).

Each Age Bracket will be capped at 30 competitors so ENTER HERE NOW

The 2020 Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Online Championship is Benefit for KungFuMagazine.com.

    Nope.

    Can't dance without music?

The sad truth is that we cannot monetize our YouTube channel because of all of the music copyright issues predominantly from our tournament videos.

Some of the best forms are highly synced to music, and I know its nearly impossible to clear all the music licenses for YouTube, but you guys could always host your own video then sell some sort of app, like this dance one:

(Although on this one you've got to hit the play button in the middle of the screen to get it started).

Sure, we could do all sorts of workarounds...

...but that's not the point. This is an experimental concept - at least the way we're taking it on - and music doesn't play into it at this time.

Having some soundtrack added at a later time would not work for the irregular timing of my forms, but could work for THOSE forms with lots of repeats.

Perhaps host your own video, but slap on your ads for MartialArtsMart instead of letting YouTube slap on all sorts of offensive ads...

Do you want to compete YinOrYang?

If you want to compete, please enroll. We'd love to see what you have.

If you can't do it without music, maybe next time.

Oh, I'm too camera-shy for that, but one of my students would like to know if you would include the music she composed herself for the Long Fist form.

    Sorry, those are the rules.

That's how tournaments work. There are rules that must be followed. And for this time, the rule is no music.

She's welcome to film herself with the music if she needs it as a crutch to perform, but she'll have to delete the audio for the actual submission. We have no rules requiring audio except for no music.

I just submitted one video. I thought I might be able to submit multiple videos if I was interested in other divisions as well. Is this possible?

    Thanks for playing, taichi4eva

For this competition, we are limiting competitors to only one video each. What we're doing is experimental, different than some of the other competitions where people just give you a score and post vids of the winners. If this goes well, we may expand in the future.
