Wicked, this is the greatest thread in the history (it is almost as fun as 'The big thread about nothing'. That was a long time ago much like this thread. The ones that drove it forward was mostly me and guys that I havn't seen here for a long time. Delicate Sound and some asian chick from Australia called Tae Li... I sorta miss them, I know D-sound would like thjis thread.)

Anyway's, I've always thought of this thread as a big **** YOU :D

Kristoffer
06-26-2003, 06:06 AM
..Oh and some kid named Joe? (I've seen him but not alot, I thin khe's lurking)

Nah to all idiots on KFO (u know who's the candidates for that ;) )

LOL yeah the Yak thread.. Didn't I start that one?

 not sure.. don't care..

The thread about nothing was way b4 all these threads and I think they deleted it bcoz to much expicit content :D

..and the Jet li thread really sucked :D But she was cool

I don't do the MM forum to much. I think most martial media is not very good. I hate stuff like the Matrix, Charlies Angels, ect..
Even a movie Like crouching tiger, the story was good and they have to ruin it with stupid special effects(flying). I like Bruce Lee movies and The Shaolin Temple(Jet Li) Thats about it!

I don't think a guy who would even consider the thought of stabbing someone with an icepick, would stand there like a guy on dope, receiving the counter-attack. He would look like a f*cking maniac.

And since there's kinda dead around here, I'll say: good night, and drive safely. Remember to lock the door when you leave.;)

Former castleva

Itīs far over 3:00AM around here by now...
Just had a long philosophical/protoscientifical discussion and Iīm feeling a bit drained and depressed.

Which supernatural power do you wish you could have,I mean what would you do?

Iīd like to travel back in time.

chen zhen
06-27-2003, 01:46 AM
It was arond 1 in the morning when I wrote that. I guess that's 2 o'clock your time.

Traveling back in time... of course, you Dinosaur-junkie.;) (btw, I was a Dinosaur-freak when I was a kid. just ask me sumthin, and I can compete with you.. )

I would have the ability of flight (a cliche, maybe:rolleyes: ), or maybe invisibility. Good ability to have when you're an evil ninja as I am.:p

Former castleva
06-27-2003, 06:37 AM
I was THE dinosaur junkie as a kid... :D but would have you asked me what paleontology is or something about dino biology,Iīd have been clueless. :)

Now theyīre back then, with actually a lot of strings attached.
;)

Huh,Iīm not sure if I dare to compete with you,itīs been a time but Iīll be getting to my books in some time...... ;)

OK,OK...Hereīs an easy one-When did dinosaurs die and how? :p

I would not like to be invisible, think how dangerous that was in traffic!!!

chen zhen
06-27-2003, 06:50 AM
Not invisible all the time!! It's only a superpower if you can turn it on/off.

With the dinosaurs.. They where nearly all extinct 65 million years ago, when presumably a meteor struck the earth where the yucatan peninsula in Mexico now lies. That is ONE theory. But the small warm-blooded Carnivorous Dinosaurs who had already started developing feathers millions of years before, survived, and developed the ability of flight, and became birds. So they are technically still around.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game.;)

Partner in crime.

chen zhen
06-27-2003, 03:57 PM
it's actually a very funny story..

My friend has been stalking this girl for months, but he's taking a break this summer.( :D) He knows what building she lives in, but not her name. So he wants me to go into the elevator with her and find out which story she lives on, and then he can find out her name that way. Kind of a sneaking-mission there, so my newly accuired skills as an evil ninja can come in handy..;)
i've been out tonight with him to scout the terrain..

It's NOT criminal!!:D

Former castleva
06-27-2003, 04:01 PM

Iīm busting you for this. ;)

chen zhen

He was busted once, hiding in a bush with his binoculars, though...:D

How f*cked are my friends, really!:D

Former castleva
06-27-2003, 04:09 PM
Binoculars are for observing hedgehogs and birds.

Why donīt you tell your friend to grab himself by the neck, before someone else does, and go introduce himself.

chen zhen
06-28-2003, 02:51 AM
He did.
He had been driving the same bus as her every day for months, and they had been talking together pretty well. Then one day he gave her a rose on the bus..
And later he asked if she wanted to do something, you know, asked her out and stuff. But then she suddenly said, and it came out of nowhere, that she already had a boyfriend. (she had'nt mentioned that anytime the months before). Then he started saying stuff like "what's his name", & "where does he live" and stuff like that, which *could* be thought of as seeming a little threatening. Since that day she has tried to avoid him, and then he started the stalking, to find out where she lives.
He's a pretty desperate man, I tell ya..:D

"The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. The religion which based on experience, which refuses dogmatic. If there's any religion that would cope the scientific needs it will be Buddhism...."
-Einstein.

"Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it (religion) should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual and a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description"
- Einstein

Thanks for the quotes,Iīll check them out soon.

Mmmm.Religion...
Theists sometimes like to attack us with the following fallacy of "Well,Einstein believed in God(S) Are you saying he was not very wise?" When he really was not,as far as evidence goes.
Famous quotes like "God does play dice..." etc. do not have much to do with such religious attachment, his understanding of magic sky-daddy was not an understanding of magic sky-daddy but rather a cosmic force if I may say so.

I felt sick to my stomach when I saw this limp brained tv-series which could be translated as "Angelīs touch" (Denmark?) in which included an ambitious scientist (lady) on her project, lots of babble about Einstein and actually shameless made-up scenes with "Einstein" himself included...as a dying man who was,as far as I remember, falsely presented as somewhat religious.

One of the guyīs quotes actually includes him saying that there is no need for religion.

So an ancient once said, "Accept the anxieties and difficulties of this life". Don't expect your practice to be clear of obstacles. Without hindrances the mind that seeks enlightenment may be burnt out. So an ancient once said, "Attain deliverance in disturbances".
--Zen Master Kyong Ho [ 1849-1912]

The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.
--Zen Buddhist Text

If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are.
--Zen proverb

You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life.
--Krishnamurti

You may learn to pass all your exams, but to give primary importance to these superficial things when the whole structure of society is crumbling, is like cleaning and polishing your fingernails while the house is burning down.

Great truths do not take hold of the hearts of the masses. And now, as all the world is in error, how shall I, though I know the true path, how shall I guide? If I know that I cannot succeed and yet try to force success, this would be but another source of error. Better then to desist and strive no more. But if I do not strive, who will?

A drunken man who falls out of a cart, though he may suffer, does not die. His bones are the same as other people's; but he meets his accident in a different way. His spirit is in a condition of security. He is not concious of riding in the cart; neither is he concious of falling out of it. Ideas of life, death, fear and the like cannot penetrate his breast; and so he does not suffer from contact with objective existence. If such security is to be got from wine, how much more is to be got from God?

It receives but does not keep.

All existing things are really one. We regard those that are beautiful and rare as valuable, and those that are ugly as foul and rotten The foul and rotten may come to be transformed into what is rare and valuable, and the rare and valuable into what is foul and rotten. Therefore it is said that one vital energy pervades the world. Consequently, the sage values Oneness

Flow with whatever may happen and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.

Happiness is the absence of the striving for happiness.

What does medieval medicine say about tobacco? ;)

I donīt think it is necessary more harmless than weed, even more dangerous in some respects perhaps.

A buddhist country not always have laws that have something to do with buddhist laws.
Dig it?

Don't know about Bhutan though. Very peaceful country, I hear.

Former castleva

Yeah...
I wonder why it actually is illegal there?

Where I live, there now are strict warnings about possible and inevitable effects of smoking printed to every single tobacco package.

Goes like "Smoking is a life danger.Do not start".Or "causes impotence" etc.
Yet they do,of course, boost it with nicotine to make sure youīll keep supporting the industry.

i saw in 60 minutes how western habits & things (tv, computer, etc) has now reached Bhutan. The elders of the country is worried about the youth forgetting the country's old traditions and habits. Sad evolution.:(

I do not know if it is necessarily bad Chen,
Some evolution revolution can be good.

Think how funny China would be like with remaining prehistoric confucius traditions of elder worship and family spanking.

I just thought that Denmark had this awful song with no real lyrics at all...

"Westernism" lol @-
Everything "westernizes" and in a context like this,it has been both hoped for and good for in many a case.

Westernization can be good in some cases,(in arab countries f.x.)
And bad in other (like in bhutan, if the old traditions is lost.)

Then there was the old-school westernization (the colonization of N.America which led to the holocaust of the indians.)

Many of the disease and poverty problems that are now being helped by the West were caused by the west through forced urbanization to agricultural communites. Examples Dole bananas in the Filipines, Many industrial companies in South America, Africa, and parts of Asia. Yes some of these countries value more jobs now, but in the begining it was corperations paying the governments to kick people off of their family farms and move into cities with their large families, in an agricultural family lots of children are an economic asset, in urban life they are mouths that are hard to feed!
